Accessibility at Databasezy

Databasezy, Inc. wants everyone to be able to use databasezy.com, the customer portal at app.databasezy.com, the documentation site and our command-line tool, regardless of ability or the technology they use. This statement applies to all of those surfaces. Last updated 2026-09-27.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA on every page, and to Level AAA for text contrast where practical. This also covers our obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508 and EN 301 549.

Conformance status

The website and documentation site are fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA as far as our automated and manual testing shows. The customer portal is partially conformant: the items below do not yet fully meet the standard.

What we do

  • WCAG 2.2 Level AA is a binding standard for every user-facing surface: the website, the customer portal, the admin portal, emails and the CLI's help output (our standard is published in the docs).
  • Automated checks run in CI on every change: axe-core on every route in light and dark mode at 375 px and 1280 px, keyboard-navigation tests, token contrast validation for both themes, a horizontal-overflow detector and Lighthouse (accessibility score must stay at 95 or above on mobile).
  • Quarterly screen-reader walkthroughs (NVDA with Firefox, VoiceOver with Safari on iOS) of the ten most important flows, from signup to signing a BAA.
  • An annual third-party accessibility audit before enterprise renewals, from which we publish a VPAT / Accessibility Conformance Report.
  • Both colour themes are validated for contrast; nothing conveys state by colour alone; motion respects your reduced-motion setting; Windows High Contrast keeps borders and focus visible.

Known issues

We publish what we know is not right yet and update this list as issues are fixed.

Code samples on wide screens can require horizontal scrolling.
Code blocks are keyboard-scrollable and have a copy button, but long connection strings may still need sideways scrolling on narrow screens. We are evaluating line wrapping for connection strings.
Some third-party embeds are outside our control.
Stripe-hosted checkout and invoice pages, and the status page, are provided by third parties. We pass on any issue you report to them and link to their accessibility statements where available.
The customer portal's charts are being upgraded.
Metric charts already provide a data table alternative; tap-and-keyboard-reachable tooltips are rolling out with the next portal release.

Tell us about a problem

If you cannot access something, or you find content that does not work with your assistive technology, email [email protected]. Include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use.

Response time: we acknowledge every report within 2 business days and give you a fix date or a workaround within 10 business days. Reports that block signing in, paying, restoring a backup or reaching support are treated as incidents and handled the same day.

VPAT and conformance report

A VPAT 2.5 (WCAG edition) Accessibility Conformance Report is available for the website, the customer portal and the API documentation. Request the current version from [email protected]; it is refreshed after each annual third-party audit.

Technical information

Our sites rely on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript. They work without JavaScript for reading content and with JavaScript for interactive features such as the theme switch, the copy buttons and the portal. We test with current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, and with NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack.

If you are not satisfied

If we do not respond within the times above, or you are unhappy with our answer, escalate to our privacy and compliance office at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the relevant authority in your country.
