Questions
How is compute billed?
Every running instance is billed per hour at its size price, so you can read the cost straight off the size table. Solo and Team include one instance: a $10 credit, applied once per org each month, covers one s0 instance running all month. Each additional instance, and any larger size, is billed at its full hourly price. Paused instances are not billed for compute.
What does a typical Solo bill look like?
Two s0 instances running all month on Solo: $25 plan + $10 + $10 compute − $10 credit = $35 a month, as long as they stay inside the included disk, egress and backup allowances.
Should I pick Solo or Team?
Solo is for one developer: the org owner is the only seat. As soon as you want to invite collaborators, move to Team, which adds unlimited members, portal SSO, project-scoped and read-only roles, the audit log, the SOC 2 report, the HIPAA add-on and an uptime SLA. Included usage is the same on both.
How does the spend cap work?
Set a monthly cap in Billing. On Solo it is on by default and you can switch it off; on Team it is available and off by default. When the cap is reached, new instances cannot be created and you are notified; running instances are never stopped without warning.
Is secure hosting a plan?
No. It is a per-instance placement on Team and Enterprise. Sign the BAA in the portal, then create or migrate only the databases that hold PHI into a HIPAA cell. Everything else stays on shared cells at normal prices.
Do I pay for disk I use or disk I provision?
Provisioned. You choose the disk size and we bill GB-hours on that size above the per-instance allowance. The portal shows used vs provisioned and days-until-full so you can grow when you need to.
What happens on the free plan when I stop using a database?
It sleeps after 15 minutes without connections and wakes on the next connection. After 7 idle days it is paused (pods gone, disk kept) and we email you; after a further 90 days it is deleted. The last backup is preserved.
How are included allowances applied?
We subtract the compute credit and the included disk, egress and backup allowances before usage reaches the invoice, so you only see net overage lines.
How are agent servers billed?
By the hour while running, at the size price: a w1 is $0.0164 an hour, about $12 if it runs all month, and $2.76 for a week of round-the-clock use. Stop it and compute billing stops; only the disk is charged, at $0.125 per GB-month. Each size includes disk while it runs. Agent servers are available on Solo, Team and Enterprise.
What do the platform services cost on the free plan?
Nothing within the included allowances in the platform table. On Free every allowance is a hard limit, so usage never turns into a bill. Free runs no customer code: apps, agent servers and sandboxes start on Solo.
Why are prices shown for services that are coming soon?
So you can plan with them. Prices and plan limits for storage, functions, realtime, apps and sandboxes are fixed in our catalogue now and will apply unchanged at launch. Nothing is billed for a service before it is live.
