Agent servers Live
A cloud machine for you and your coding agents
Each agent server is its own Kata VM with Ubuntu, Docker, your toolchains and coding agents preinstalled. Connect over SSH from VS Code, Cursor or Zed, or open the web terminal in the portal. Billed by the hour from $12 a month; stop it and compute billing stops.
How it works
Agent servers, step by step
- Step 01
Add your SSH key
Register a public key on your account once; the bastion authenticates every connection with it.
- Step 02
Create a server
Pick a size (w1, w2, w3) and a region. It is ready in about a minute.
- Step 03
Connect
ssh -p 2222 <server-id>@ssh.us-east.databasezy.com, zb ws code for VS Code, Cursor or Zed, or the web terminal.
- Step 04
Stop when you are done
Stop it yourself or let it stop after an idle period. The disk is kept; compute billing stops.
What you get
-
A VM per server
Every server runs in its own Kata VM in its own namespace, with Docker inside it and no access to other customers' networks.
Live -
SSH through a bastion
Key-only SSH on port 2222, routed by server id, with your registered keys. Every session is recorded as a security event and can be revoked.
Live -
Web terminal
A terminal in the portal for when you are away from your laptop.
Live -
Agents and toolchains preinstalled
Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Gemini CLI, with Node, pnpm, Bun, Python, Go, Rust, Git and Docker. Bring your own agent subscriptions.
Live -
Stopped means no compute charge
A stopped server pays only for its disk. Compute is metered from start and stop events, by the hour.
Live -
Daily snapshots
Daily snapshots of the home volume, restore into a new server and export to a bucket.
Coming soon -
Your repositories
GitHub repositories cloned under ~/dev with an installation token, and shared agent instructions from the project.
Coming soon -
Next to your databases
Attach a server to a project to reach its instances inside the cell.

Try it
From key to editor in five commands.
zb ssh-key add # registers ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub
zb ws create dev --size w1 --wait
zb ws ssh-config dev --write # adds "Host zb-dev" to ~/.ssh/config
zb ws code dev --editor cursor # or code, zed
zb ws stop dev # compute billing stops, disk is kept# Plain ssh, no CLI needed: the user name is the server id
ssh -p 2222 [email protected]Plan availability
Generated from the same plan catalogue that billing and the API use.

Sizes: w1 (2 vCPU, 4 GiB, ≈ $12/month), w2 (4 vCPU, 8 GiB, ≈ $22/month), w3 (6 vCPU, 12 GiB, ≈ $32/month), each with 40 GB / 75 GB / 100 GB of disk included while running. Extra disk, and the whole volume while stopped, is $0.125 per GB-month.
Questions
What do I pay when a server is stopped?
Only its disk, at $0.125 per GB-month. Compute is billed per running hour at the size price and stops the moment the server stops.
Is it a container or a VM?
A VM: each server runs in its own Kata Containers VM, which is what lets Docker run inside it safely.
Which editors work?
Anything that speaks SSH. VS Code and Cursor with Remote-SSH, and Zed's remote projects; zb ws ssh-config writes the Host block for them and zb ws code opens the editor.
Can my teammates get into my server?
No. The bastion checks on every connection that the key belongs to the server's owner. Admins can revoke sessions and set how many servers each member may own.
